We are getting creative around here for outdoor activities as the normal running around until they tire is curtailed for a bit. I have a new babysitter that is helping out during the day with my son as he cannot be in school now, and I have given her various ideas of things that we like to do. When I take my kids for a walk (my boy is getting carted around quite a bit in the wagon!), we talk about everything and anything that we see. I love to incorporate some of the things that they are learning in school and am a big believer in the finding a classroom anywhere..
While I think she would do the same, I thought that this prepared scavenger hunt would give a good starting point for them. Of course, if I was making it for us to enjoy, I figured you could see it too!

We are practicing counting, letters/foundations for reading, colors, and of course, following directions!
What do you think? Would your little one like this? Feel free to print and enjoy.

Cute idea – my son’s 4 year old class did a letter scavenger hunt and took pictures which they later glued into their own “book”. It was really fun to find and take the pictures and whenever we read the book we talk about finding the particular letters. (like a sideways easel looks like an “A”, trees growing together can look like a “v”, “w” or “y”. We’ve also done a color one on our own.
