Mom Time and a Celebration Giveaway

This weekend – I am on my own for 36 hours. It is a weird feeling to be here with my husband and kids gone. We are having a bit of construction done on the house – there is so much dust, loud noises, and a lot of men with tools going in and out of the house, we thought it would be good for the kids to go to a quieter place. It matched up nicely with my father-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s birthdays, so my husband took the kiddos to visit my in-laws.

36 hours is not a lot of time, being that I was working for about 10 hours and sleeping for about 6. So – what does one do with 20 hours to themselves??? Well…mom time for me meant the watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony and having sushi & wine with a friend, shopping for a dress for a wedding and some clothes for BlogHer, running all those fun weekend errands (Costco, library, post office, dry cleaner), exercising, painting trim for our new windows, picking out paint for our new doors, laundry, and prepping dinners for the week.  I was able to get a ton accomplished – I am ready to soak up tons of fun time with my munchkins tomorrow!!

The family is starting off on their 2 1/2 drive back now (yay!) – and I am settling to watch this guy (helllllllo Channing) before they get here…

So where does the giveaway come in…well, this has been an exciting time for MMB – 300 fans on both Twitter and FaceBook (THANK YOU!!!), and next week I am off to BlogHer for what will probably be a massively overwhelming experience. This whole venture feels a bit more official as my media cards just arrived for the Kidologie event that I am a media sponsor for. My business cards are supposed to arrive on Monday – eek! So last month, Newtown/Trumbull/Monroe Macaroni Kid gave me a $25 gift card to Lord and Taylors to use at any time for the blog, and tonight is a GREAT time for that.

Help me celebrate with tonight’s giveaway…tell me what you love to do best for “mom time” or “me” time (if you are not a mom) through the comment option. There are many other fun ways included in the Rafflecopter entry for more options to win this awesome gift card!  :)
Enter by Tuesday, July 31st!

Cant comment from my iPhone. Tried to enter. Will try again later. But my fav thing to do for mom time is to spend time with good friends, relaxing and LAUGHING.

Relaxing baths are the best! Reading a good book or magazine! Getting my nails done and getting a massage are all some of my favorite “me time” moments that’s for sure!

My favorite thing to do with “me” time is read in the tub! We re-did our bathroom this year and got a bubble tub- I don’t get to use it often but I love it when I do!

I have been enjoying “Mom” time since Thursday as my son is spending the week with his cousins. “Mom” time for me has been relaxing and getting stuff done around the house.

For mom time I go through my photos and scrapbook, either for my family or for grandparents! I am the picture taker of the fam so I make sure every special memory is captured for all of us!
