Do you get lazy cooking over the summer? I feel like I really fall into this trap. We either have salads or something from the grill. I have been SUPER lazy, and the last couple Thursdays, we have had either Trader Joe’s apps for dinner or takeout and I have spent my energy on making fun drinks (priorities, right?!).
This past week, the drink of choice was my Summer Citrus Sangria – a recipe I received a couple of years ago from my cousin. This is an easy one to double or triple for a party, and is always a hit. If you are debating between red or white sangria, this is perfect, because you don’t have to make a decision! There is also no chopping up of tons of fruit – even I am not to lazy to peel an orange.
Enjoy!
Summer Citrus Sangria
2 Cups OJ 1/3 Cup Sugar 1 bottle white wine 1/2 bottle red wine 1 cup sparkling water Ice Cubes 2 oranges, thinly slicedIn a large pitcher, stir together the orange juice and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add the wines and stir well. If desired, cover and refrigerate for up to 8 hours or until ready to serve.
To serve, add the sparkling water, ice cubes, and orange slides and stir well.
Cheers!
