I am THRILLED to be announcing a giveaway with my new sponsor – More Than a Cupcake…who I refer to as the Birthday Party Miracle Worker. Why is she a miracle worker, you ask? Well….
You may have realized that my kids like to challenge me. Well, my son in particular likes to do this. We will be driving and see 2 deer on the side of the road, he will say, “That’s great, Mommy. Can you find 4 deer now?” My uncle has done Donald Duck impressions for years…every child always asks for more…except my son who says “that’s funny, now do mickey!”
It should have come as no surprise to me when I asked him about his birthday theme that he told me he wanted a dinosaur party, quickly followed up by specifying that it had to be a Dinosaur Train party. If you have not seen the show Dinosaur Train, I would be more than happy to tell you ALL about it someday…but, the gist of it is the Pteranodon Family (Mr. and Mrs. P, Shiny, Tiny, and Don) find a T Rex, Buddy, in their “nest” and adopt him, the Pteranodons and Buddy then travel through the various time periods and learn all about the dinosaurs. Here are Buddy and Tiny…don’t they just look adorable? Honestly, I might be as obsessed with the show as my son is…as usual, I digress…
I completely credit this show with getting my son to eat more fruits and veggies (“don’t you want to be like the really cool herbivore Morris the Stegosaurus???”, says mom), and for getting to know the names of many types of dinosaurs which is actually a pretty fun party trick.
I am assuming that a lot of people have not heard of this show, because it is IMPOSSIBLE to find mass-produced items. A limited number of books, a couple of toys, and a couple of pairs of pajamas have been found in my massive searches over the year or so. We own every Dinosaur Train item out there, and when I heard his request, I knew it was going to be a tough one. I scoured the web, scored a couple of plates and napkins on Amazon and then went to Pinterest for inspiration….and that I found. I was very quickly introduced to More than a Cupcake who was my incredible savior in this hunt. My son was going to have dinosaur train cupcakes (“its my favorite thing mommy – dinosaur train and cupcakes…you can make them, right?!”) and the most adorable birthday banner.

We are planning Lillian’s 1st birthday part for the end of July. It has a ladybug and frog theme…one of her nicknames is Lily-pad.
“Graduation” party for Dylan & Julia!
My soon to be four year old wants a Hot Wheels birthday party this year. He loves race cars so much and I have ordered from More Than a Cupcake before and was so impressed, it would be awesome to win this!!
My soon to be 3 year old who asks me every day if it is her birthday, actually in August, wants nothing more than a Minnie/Mickey birthday. Although I usually make most of the party supplies, it would be really nice for someone else to make them for me! Her shop is lovely!
I just had a sid the science kid party for my 3yr old son and a super why party for my 4 yr old son. we all loved it my next party will be a fire breathing dragon.
My almost-2year-old wants Minnie Mouse everything, so a Minnie party she will get… June 30th. How’s that for a time crunch?
Our next party will be for a wild two year old boy and was thinking, farm animals since he “moos” at every animal he sees!
My next party will be my daughter’s first birthday in August. I haven’t come up with a theme yet!
When my oldest turned 5 last fall he requested a “Wild Kratts” party. Like Dinosaur Train, it’s a great show with NO merchandise available! I went on-line and found awesome inspiration from other parents who had done Wild Kratts parties. Fortunately, all he wanted on his cake was a paw print. For my younger son’s birthday we did “Zoboomafoo” and I did an icing transfer to do a picture of Zoboo on his cake. That was a first, but it turned out pretty well! These decorations look adorable and it is always nice to have someone else do some of the work!
My baby girl is a huge princess fan and would love nothing more than the ultimate princess party. And I would love nothing more than to win this so I don’t have to do all of the decorations!
We are very into princesses as well as the whole Strawberry Shortcake crew these days… I wonder which my almost 3 year old will pick! Winning would be fabulous, but I’m also happy to get some ideas! Thanks for doing this giveaway!
